We planned to develop an AR T-shirt experience that ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ต๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น T-๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฅ ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ in Spark AR.
To make this T-shirt experience more immersive and realistic we have to
๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ๐น๐ฒ๐๐๐น๐ ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฅ ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ (Patterns) around ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ’๐ ๐ฝ๐ต๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฐ๐น๐ผ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด instead of just overlaying a 3D model of the t.shirt on top of the user all the time. ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ (๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ผ๐) ๐๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ T-๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ instead of just masking it.Our filter experience segments dress and augment cool AR effects and anchor sponsored logos/3D sticks on top of the t.shirt that the user wears.
Some key technical progress we made during development were
Segmenting clothing of user and augmenting cool AR effect on top of physical T-shirt Dress Segmentation alone ๐ฐ๐จ๐งโ๐ญ ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐ซ, so we found a way to anchor logos to shirts instead of just masking them. We found a solution similar to upper body tracking to achieve this.Now users can try different cool effects, reposition or resize and anchor branded logos (3D stickers) to the user’s t.shirt.
